A simple pasta dish that is prepared in a single pot or frying pan. It's a mix of Mexican taco and Italian pasta, which together with grated cheese makes this an American recipe ;)

This is a simple and quick (30 minute) recipe with minimal washing up afterwards. You cook the pasta in the same pot as the rest of the ingredients, so only one pot needs to be washed.

In this recipe I use a homemade taco seasoning mix and the idea is that you can use half of that recipe for the 4 portions that this recipe refers to. If you prefer to buy a ready-made spice mix, a bag of e.g. Santa Maria spice mix TACO original which weighs 28 grams or a similar product.

I have used different types of pasta for this recipe. With short pasta such as fusilli, penne or rotini, it's quite easy and you can use a medium size pot or frying pan, but if you want to use long pasta such as spaghetti in this recipe instead, it is necessary to use a fairly wide pot or frying pan so that you do not break the spaghetti into smaller pieces.

Serve with corn, tomatoes, grated cheese, finely chopped parsley and why not some pickled red onion? If you want to make it even easier, you can simply mix everything directly into the pot instead.
