These delights only require a handful of ingredients and a quick bake for a treat that's perfect for fika.

Simple and tasty - perfect for "fika". They get a little tough inside, but harden after a day or so.

I find it easier to use an electric whisk to mix the ingredients, but of course you can mix everything by hand instead.

  1. Take the butter out of the fridge and let it soften at room temperature.
  2. Start the oven at 200°C.
  3. Put the butter and sugar in a bowl. Beat with an electric whisk until well mixed.
  4. Add oatmeal, flour and baking powder and mix with an electric whisk until a well-mixed dough.
  5. Form small balls (32 pieces) and place the balls on a baking sheet with parchment paper (16 pieces on each sheet).
  6. Insert one tray at a time, and bake the cakes in the middle of the oven for about 10 minutes.
  7. Take out the trays and let the cookies cool on the tray.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
