This simple pannacotta is made with a bag of Ahlgrens bilar and whipped cream. I add a little caramel coloring to make the colors a little clearer, but it's not necessary. Otherwise, no other ingredients are needed as the cars contain enough sugar and gelatin to get a good consistency for the pannacotta.

There are slightly different sizes of the bags and here I use the one that weighs 160g. There are also slightly different flavors - here I use the original. I haven't tried any other flavors.

It's a very simple recipe, but it takes a little time as each layer needs some time to set.

I tried a few different serving sizes and found 4 servings to be a bit too much. So I ended up with 6 servings being more appropriate. In the pictures I show both sizes - the one in a whiskey glass is for 4 servings and the other glass is if you use 6 servings.

  1. Divide the cars into the three colors.
  2. Heat 1.5dl of whipped cream and the green cars in a saucepan. Keep the temperature steady and low/medium (do not boil) and stir occasionally until the cars are completely melted. Add 1-2 drops of green food coloring if desired.
  3. Divide into 4-6 serving glasses and refrigerate until cooled.
  4. Repeat the process for the white cars (without food coloring) and let cool in the refrigerator.
  5. Repeat again for the red cars and add 1-2 drops of red caramel coloring if desired.
  6. Let stand in refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
